Coming from a recurve background, the Mamluk Archery course was both a humbling and transformative experience. The transition challenged not only my technical habits but also my mindset as an archer. Failing the first course a few months back was difficult to accept however, it became a pivotal moment in my development. Rather than discouragement, it instilled a deeper sense of purpose, discipline and respect for the learning process. The course was delivered and assessed with thorough professionalism by Coach Jehad and Instructor Armand.Expectations were clear, standards were uncompromising and feedback was honest yet constructive. This level of integrity reinforced the importance of earning progression rather than being granted it. Returning after failure required focus, determination and a renewed commitment to practice, truly embodying the principle that practice makes perfect.

Through consistent implementation of the taught strategies and precise execution of technique, I began to understand archery beyond form alone. The structured repetition, attention to detail and emphasis on intention transformed my shooting. Learning and applying the traditional thumb release marked a profound shift from my experience within Archery GB frameworks. This was not merely a technical adjustment but a complete reorientation of approach. The traditional method brought with it a sense of spiritual upliftment.A deeper connection between mind, body and bow. Shooting became an act of presence and discipline rather than outcome driven performance. Each arrow demanded focus, patience and internal stillness, reinforcing values of humility and self accountability. This journey has strengthened my resolve as an archer. I am now more focused, more determined and fully committed to continual improvement. The experience has reaffirmed that growth comes through perseverance, respect for tradition and unwavering dedication to the process.
